Eight entries have been selected as finalists for the inaugural 307 Startup Challenge during the Wyoming Blockchain Stampede and WyoHackathon.

The finalists will make their pitches to judges today (Wednesday) at 1 p.m. at the University of Wyoming Conference Center in Laramie.

The UW Center for Blockchain and Digital Innovation (CBDI) presents the Wyoming Blockchain Stampede with the support of title sponsor IOHK. UW’s IMPACT 307 business incubator is conducting the 307 Startup Challenge, which is sponsored by Blue Ocean.

Finalists in the 307 Startup Challenge are seeking $25,000 in seed funding. They are Near Field Query, ThatchCoin, Maven Federal Credit Union, LegaciLife, Ordinal Inc., Crypto Legacy, Jonathan Stokes and Indico.

Fred Schmechel, IMPACT 307 interim director, says the 307 Startup Challenge will follow the incubator’s pitch rules. A panel of judges will review the pitches by the finalists.

“The judges have complete and absolute say in how the $25,0000 seed fund will be distributed,” Schmechel says.

Awards will be announced during the Wyoming Blockchain Stampede at 5 p.m. Friday, Sept. 23, at the UW Conference Center.

IMPACT 307 is a statewide network of Wyoming innovation-driven business incubators committed to growing and strengthening Wyoming’s entrepreneurial community by providing resources and support for founders to thrive.
